[After she eventually comes to, she goes home and stays home. An employee like Lin never calls out - no matter how sick she might be. It’s noted on her file. And yet she disappears from work for the rest of the week. She doesn’t talk about it. They don’t ask her questions. If they wound up doing so, she’d just end up dodging them.

It’s obvious what happened - the evidence was all over her office, on the CCTV footage. She’ll notice the unannounced bonus (for her troubles) in her next check, and that’ll be the end of it. Unless more involved therapy sessions are deemed necessary. (She already attends the required amount at the recommended intervals as suggested by HR.)

Going back on Monday is more nerve-racking than she thinks it’ll be. For once, the place she considers more her home than anywhere else seems unpleasant and extremely uncomfortable. She isn’t on her A-game at all. Her team notices her behavior, but they don’t dare say a word about it.

There are no late nights for her. She doesn’t work overtime. She just leaves when the rest of the day shift does. They have plenty of time to get back on track for the quarter’s ritual. It’ll be fine. They were already in a good place before the shakeup happened.

She feels like she can finally breathe once she gets home, and this trend continues throughout the week.

But it doesn’t last for long.

She’s barely in the door and getting settled before coming face to face with him. She feels like she’s going to be sick all over again.]

Jesus fuck - w-what are you doing here?
